Terms of Use

These terms govern access to this website. Visiting a page, reading its content, or using a search feature signals acceptance. Do not continue to use the site if you reject any condition below.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, state, or federal agency. Neither the site nor its advertising partners provides a service intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other Fair Credit Reporting Act use. It is a reference to Caldwell County and North Carolina record sources, not a private investigation service or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of government. It does not store official records, file papers, perform official checks, or retrieve a record for a visitor.

It identifies Caldwell County custodians, including Sheriff Records and the Clerk of Superior Court, plus NCSBI and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Public access to government records follows North Carolina Chapter 132, G.S. 132-1.4, court-access statutes, and any confidentiality rule that applies to the record.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is conditioned on an agreement not to:

  • Use the site in violation of federal, state, or local law
  • Harass, threaten, or stalk anyone with information found here
  • Use site content for lending, insurance, employment, or housing decisions
  • Gain or attempt unauthorized system access
  • Deploy bots, scraping tools, or other automated collection
  • Disrupt access or degrade the site's performance

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Harassment, stalking, intimidation, threats, or unlawful discrimination based on site or linked-tool information is forbidden and may be criminal. This warning is especially important for the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Its acceptable-use terms and Article 27A do not authorize vigilante acts or misuse against a listed person. Registry access exists for public-safety awareness.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not prepare consumer reports, credit reports, or background checks. Site data and linked tools may not be used to:

  • Set insurance premiums or assess creditworthiness
  • Evaluate housing or rental applicants
  • Make hiring or termination decisions
  • Decide eligibility for permits, licenses, or public programs
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A check for a regulated purpose must come from an authorized official channel or an FCRA-compliant screening provider, as applicable.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General explanations of Caldwell County records cannot determine how a warrant, charge, conviction, or expunction law applies to one case. Seek a licensed North Carolina attorney for that analysis.

6. No Warranties

All content and functions are provided "as is," without a promise that:

  • Partner search results will be complete or accurate
  • Information will always be current, correct, or complete
  • Pages will be free from bugs, mistakes, or security weaknesses
  • Service will remain available without interruption

Charges may be filed, changed, dismissed, restricted, or expunged. Gaps and delays are possible, so no page should be treated as an official statement from a court, sheriff, or state agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may open sheriff, court, state-agency, legal-aid, or outside search services. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, availability, charges, or privacy practices. Review their terms before use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, logos, graphics, and code belong to Caldwell County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or adapted without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for harm arising from use of the site, its information, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims or demands caused by your use of the site or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. Any dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in North Carolina.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revision takes effect when the new version is posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be restricted or ended at any time, for any reason, without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue. The affected provision will be narrowed only as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be directed through the Contact page.
