Official Caldwell County records must come from the office that maintains them. The contacts below route sheriff reports, jail information, court case files, and state criminal-history questions to their proper custodians. This private site cannot receive a records request or alter an agency file.

This Is Not a Government Office. This private reference site cannot retrieve or correct a record, perform an official check, or accept an expunction filing. Contact the government custodian directly.

Need an Official Record?

Use these Caldwell County and North Carolina routes for the requested record:

  • Court files and certified county searches: Caldwell County Courthouse, 216 Main Street NW, Lenoir, NC 28645; Clerk of Superior Court 828-759-3500; Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Arrest, incident, and police reports: Caldwell Sheriff Support Services/Records, 2351 Morganton Boulevard SW, Lenoir, NC 28645; 828-758-2324; Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., holidays closed; use the city police department when it created the report
  • Current jail information: Caldwell Detention at the Morganton Boulevard complex; 828-759-1510
  • Own fingerprint-supported state history: use the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Right to Review; the NCSBI background-check FAQ explains product and correction differences
  • Information about another person: follow the official NCSBI court, offender, and registry routes, not a public SBI name portal
  • Federal personal review: use the FBI's Identity History Summary request form and official request FAQ
  • Expunction petitions: use the proper AOC form and file with the Clerk of Superior Court where the charge was brought

Sheriff Records handles agency reports and charges $4 for an arrest report, incident report, attorney check, or CAD report. The Clerk holds judicial case files and provides the certified Caldwell-only AOC-CR-314 name search for $25.
